I'm in a Plushform show!!

Friday November 7 is the opening of the 1st annual Midwest Plushform Show (www.midwestplushformshow.com) to raise money for Toys for Tots. Below is my entry. It's Jackie Chan by the way. I don't know how obvious that is. I've completely lost objectivity. Specifically it's Jackie Chan from the opening action set piece of Police Story, one of his finest films. Please visit the website for more information regarding the whos, wheres, and whys of the show. It's going to be awesome.

Just In From Comic-Con...A Month Ago

Ok so once again it's been a while since my last post but this one's a doozy. By the way, I'm not going to apologize for the late post post because if you keep coming back then you must enjoy the abuse. As suggested by the heading I am back from the Baltimore Comic-Con and it was pretty great. It's been a few weeks since then and some of the facts may have gotten a bit fuzzy. I do have a memory of Mike Mignola telling me I'm the best he's ever seen but, the whole thing was such a whirlwind I might be making that up. I didn't sell as many prints as I would have liked to but I had a great time nonetheless. We ended up sitting next to a great artist named Jeremy Bastian and I highly reccommend you looking as his site: www.jeremybastian.com

Here's a picture of us at our table

And here's a couple of sketches I did while nobody was buying my stuff.
Firstly in the spirit of my surroundings...

This is a character I've been working on. I know. He's kind of weird.

Nerdly Girls Rise and Be Celebrated

Okay, I know it's been an unreasonably long time since I posted anything so first let me say I'm sorry to all my loyal readers and admirers.

Oh my god. I am so sorry.

Alright, now that I'm forgiven and we're friends again I can get to the super exciting, extra special news. During all this time I haven't been posting anything I have actually been doing things. Secret things. Wonderous things. I will first officially announce that I have been hard at work designing T-shirts and other items for Dead On Apparel which is a new clothing company I am involved with. As soon as I know it's safe to post the designs I will, along with a link to the online store. My next announcement is that I will be attending the Baltimore Comic-Con where I will be selling prints of my new series of work shown below. I will also be selling these prints at my Etsy store. They are numbered and limited to 100 each. They are beautiful high quality giclee prints. Get them fast!!

At Long Last...

Prints of my president drawings are now available through my Etsy store. Please use the link "my Etsy store," to access them. I know I said these were going to be available a long time ago and I apologize for making you, the masses, wait for such a long time. If there is a president you would like to see let me know and I can do an original especially for you. If there are many requests for the same unavailable president I will do a print version. Thank you everyone for the support and kind words and I hope you enjoy the work.

This is a card I made for my friend Dan's 25th birthday. He was going skydiving to celebrate so I thought I'd try to scare him more.

SPEED!!

This is the first of three planned works based on Speed Racer. Because I am obviously such a big fan of the series you may be wondering, "what did you think of the movie, John?" The answer is that I loved the movie and my love of the series was reignited by it, hence this series of works. This is the drawing and color study for the first piece.

Here's the newest addition to my Etsy shop. Ever since I saw "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" I've been really interested in Jesse James. So far everything in my store is only $40. For original drawings, you can't beat that.

My Etsy shop is up and running finally. Although at the time of this post there is only one item in there I have some big hopes for its eventual success. Here is that one item.

This past Saturday I had my first gallery opening at the Pop Shop gallery in Lakewood. Here are some pictures from the gallery starring myself and some kids that were there.

Just in time for right after President's Day!

Hey everyone,
I know it's been a long time since I posted anything (not that anyone reads this anyway), but this time I got a whole batch of things to show. I call this series "Presidents With Animals on Their Heads." Prints of these will soon be available for purchase at Etsy.com. I hope you enjoy them and I will let you know when they are up on Etsy.
