Stitches

Polinksi - "Stitches" (Feat. Big Black Delta) from Cluster 1 on Vimeo.

Check out the new music video for Polinski's new single, "Stitches." I did all of the pixel art for the video. I want to thank Paul Wolinski for writing an awesome song, Caspar Newbolt of Version Industries for bringing me on the project, and Josiah Newbolt for bringing my drawings to life.

Hi John. You dont have contact info that I can find so I'll ask here...

Im really intrigued by the early PC game art style and would like to have a crack at some of it myself - what program did you use to create this? and what was your method? If you care to share that is.

cheers mate

Hey Luke! I don't mind sharing at all. It's a pretty simple process really. I used Photoshop (I know any CS version can do it) to accomplish the look. When you start a new file, make the resolution really low. I started with a resolution of 8 pixels/inch and I think the document size was something like 20"x 30". Once the file is created all you have to do is make sure to use the pencil tool in place of the paintbrush, and change the eraser tool's mode from brush to pencil. That's all there is to it really. When you are completely finished with the piece, you'll most likely want to increase the resolution. When you do so, go to "image size," and change the drop down option at the bottom of the window from "bicubic" to "nearest neighbor." This will preserve the hard edges of the pixels. You're done! If you have any more questions e-mail me at johndelucca@gmail.com. Thanks!
